It took me 40+ years to learn that there is more to incense than bamboo sticks doused in cheap perfume. That incense was traditionally made from beautiful aromatic resins, fragrant woods, roots, spices, leaves and flowers. It came from nature. And with that, it brought the most incredibly complex and interesting fragrant materials the world has to offer.

Long ago, this is what incense was. Full of soul and the energies of the plants that created it.

Somewhere along the way, the majority of incense began to acquire its fragrance from a chem lab rather than the forest. And in that process, something was lost. A vitality that simply cannot be replicated by men in white coats.
